Notes: | Review article which provides an overview of prevention research in the areas of child abuse, youth violence and domestic violence before considering some the methodological issues that have arisen in each of these contexts, such as self-reporting bias, definitional issues and problems with agreeing on clear risk and protective factors. Recent developments and progress made towards the development of guidelines for practitioners are discussed and it is suggested that the ongoing evaluation of such principles is key to the success of any preventative strategy. |
