The article addresses the WA Family Court approach to child sexual abuse (CHSA) matters. The author challenges the perception that considers that mothers are misusing CHSA allegations to obtain favourable outcomes in custody and contact disputes. A number of studies that reflect the small percentage of cases involving CHSA in family courts is mentioned. Additionally, the article questions the research that deems CHSA accusations as false, including Gardner’s ‘Parental Alienation Syndrome’ theory. Indicators of sexual abuse and the quality of expert testimony are also raised to highlight children's experiences.
