Notes:  This article discusses the background, development and use of a risk assessment tool designed to support police in identifying and responding to honour-based violence in Sweden. Drawing on risk assessment tools used in cases of spousal abuse and stalking, the authors developed the PATRIARCH tool which utilises 15 risk factors as a checklist. The authors examined 56 cases in which the tool has been used discussing demographics of the victims and perpetrators as well as risk factors. Recommendations include examining the relationship between risk assessment and risk management.
