Notes:	Outlines the methodology and results of a US study aimed at exploring the extent to which domestic violence support services are responding to the needs of women facing multiple service barriers, such as disabled women, women with substance abuse disorders or women with mental health problems. Some of the specific problems encountered by these groups are identified and the strategies various agencies have utilised to respond to these issues, such as advocacy, problem specific treatment programmes and problem-specific support groups, outreach programmes, staff training and agency collaboration are discussed. The findings of the study suggest women experiencing multiple service barriers find the criminal justice system to be the least responsive to their needs and some of the reasons for this perception are summarised. Suggestions, from participating agencies, for future implementation of similar strategies are provided and a greater emphasis on multiple issues in service provision and coordination is advocated.
