Notes: | Presents the methodology and findings of a US study aimed at both identifying the ways in which battered women prioritise their help-seeking behaviour and assessing the extent to which these behaviours are indicative of women’s needs. The role of advocacy and coordinated community responses to intimate partner violence is reviewed and it is argued that, consistently with previous research, the current study demonstrates the diversity of women’s help-seeking behaviours and the need for comprehensive community and advocacy intervention strategies. |
