Notes:	This article explores a theory of perpetrator behaviour based on a cycle of the victimised partner’s rejection followed by abusive behaviours. The authors first outline the theory drawing on published literature. This is followed by a description of the methodology and results of a study which explored this theory by surveying 66 men who were attending perpetrator programs in Australia. The authors conclude that there is support for the theory and outline recommendations for perpetrator groups and couples therapy.
