Notes: | CVIP case manager presents the case study of Peter and Freda to demonstrate how the Central Violence Intervention Program (CVIP) uses a collaborative approach involving liaison and referral between the specialist courts of Family Violence and the Magistrates Court Diversion Program, to provide both parties with specialist domestic violence interventions. Describes Peter’s referral to the Magistrates Court Diversion Program after he was charged with assault, his assessment for the CVIP and his subsequent participation in the Stopping Violence Program. Illustrates how the CVIP provides a service to women which prioritises safety, empowerment and support using the example of Freda and the CVIP Women’s Worker who supported her. |
