Notes:  This UK research drew on the participants of the Cambridge Study in Delinquent Development (CSDD), a prospective longitudinal survey which began 40 years ago, to investigate whether early childhood and adolescent factors could predict intimate partner violence (IPV). Men at age 32 years and age 48 years were surveyed and additional information was collected from parents, teachers and female partners.

The authors found that early childhood factors did predict adult male IPV. Both family and individual factors were shown to be associated with later IPV.
