Notes:  Article reviews Helen Rhodes' evaluation of the research study into reforms of Australian family law made when the Family Law Reform Act came into operation in June 1996. Important findings of the study were: that in a comparison of pre- and post-Reform Act interim unreported judgements, there had been a dramatic decrease in orders suspending contact at interim hearings, that the 'right to contact' principle seemed to be influencing the issue of relocation, and that there had been an increase in post-order disputes rather than a decrease in litigation. Rhodes' assessment appears in the Child and Family Law Quarterly, Vol. 12, No, 2, 2000.
