Title: Children outcomes and intimate partner violence research: authors’ reply
Other Titles: The lancet
Authors: Morris, Anita
Hegarty, Kelsey L
Keywords: Screening;Impact on children and young people;Mental health
Year: 2013
Publisher: J. Onwhyn
Citation: 382 (9901), October 19, 2013
Notes:  Hegarty and Morris reply to Cruz et al.’s comments on the former’s paper, “Screening and counselling in the primary care setting for women who have experienced intimate partner violence (WEAVE): a cluster randomised controlled trial” by acknowledging the need for impacts on children exposed to intimate partner violence (IPV) to be measured and reported in research on IPV. Hegarty and Morris enlarge on research findings by others regarding screening and, also, interventions involving both mothers and children. They describe their own efforts in developing a primary care intervention for children and mothers, and agree that research prioritising the mental health outcomes of both is needed.
