Notes:  This report of a Netherlands study discusses research carried out to determine whether children who have witnessed intimate partner violence experience greater physical health problems than children who have not witnessed such violence. Furthermore, the study investigates whether children who have witnessed intimate partner violence in addition to experiencing abuse or neglect of some kind express even greater physical health complaints. By evaluating caregivers’ reports of their children’s presenting symptoms, a comparison is drawn between these groups and a recommendation for earlier intervention is proposed.
