Notes: | Discusses the differences between the needs of women and children who are victims of domestic violence. In refuges, women’s needs are often seen as more immediate and thus more important. Advocates for specifically trained and designated child support workers, whose first priority is the emotional and physical well being of the children, to work in collaboration with the generalist workers in women’s refuges, and in outreach and family crisis services as a way of meeting the needs of children. |
