Notes:  General Overview: This Australian article provides a summary of a behaviour change program, Chill Choose Change (CCC) an organisation of the same name, which employs an early intervention model to assist young people and adolescents move away from using violence.

Discussion: The CCC behaviour change program was established in North Melbourne in 1996. It provides an 8-10 week, mixed-gender group program for 12-17 year olds, motivated to change their violent behaviour. Each group is tailored to participants’ needs, however, all groups are planned around three key themes: violence and its effects; ways of dealing with difficult situations; and preferred identity. The article concludes by addressing the challenges faced in running the program and provides observations regarding future directions the program might take, including its possible termination if ongoing funding cannot be secured.
