Notes:  This article reports on the alliance between the Gold Coast Domestic Violence Prevention Centre Inc (DVPC) and Queensland Corrective Services (QCS). Both agencies are involved with perpetrators of domestic violence as members of the Gold Coast Domestic Violence Integrated Response (DVIR) which was established 17 years ago and includes the Queensland Police Service (QPS), Legal Aid, Centacare, Department of Housing (QLD), Department of Child Safety (QLD), local magistrates’ courts and local women’s refuges.

The practical aspects of the collaborative activities of the DVPC and QCS, especially the Men’s Domestic Violence Education Intervention Program (MDVEIP), are discussed: how success is measured; the assessment, induction and review process; the role of the women’s advocate; and the process of exiting the program.
