Notes:  Clark and Walker, both of whom I have met and respect, have provided a real service to academics, practitioners, and victims of violence by the discussion of research ethics in
victimization studies. If I have a significant criticism they try to do too much on too complex a topic in too little space. Such would be my own criticism of this commentary. I want to address a couple of overarching reactions to Clark and Walker and then conclude with some specific comments.
