Notes:  Describes and evaluates the Domestic Violence Protocol in DuPage County, Illinois, USA, which was established in 1989. Specifically investigates system-level activity, arrest, prosecution, and coordinated community and authority efforts in relation to perpetrators of domestic violence. Research data includes analysis of police reports from January 1, 1992 until March 31, 1992 and recidivism data as of September 1, 1993. The 690 reported cases of domestic violence relate to 588 actual offenders. Concludes that when the Domestic Violence Protocol is successfully initiated, recidivism rates are lower.
