Notes:

The relationship between specialist domestic violence services which are usually, though not always, based in the community or voluntary sector, and statutory child protection services is endlessly contested. In the article by Douglas and Walsh, workers in the specialist domestic violence organizations name at least 10 different aspects of the unsatisfactory interface between child protection and its work with women living with domestic violence. The same stories, dominant patterns, tales of mistrust and poor practice are depressingly consistent with previous research in this area.
