Notes: | Outlines the methodology and results of a study involving undergraduate psychology students from a range of southeast U.S. universities. Essentially aimed at the development of psychometrically sound measures of intimate partner abuse for young adults, the study generated a series of items from an initial open-ended questionnaire and literature review, and analysed the data obtained with a view to identifying precursors to abusive behaviour, so that more effective prevention and intervention measures might be developed. Various limitations of the study are noted and areas for future research and concern are highlighted. |
