Notes:	This article reviews the literature examining the impact of witnessing IPV by infants and young children. The authors provide a brief overview of risk factors for IPV, identifying that young children and infants are at higher risk for exposure and noting that evidence suggests infants can be more intensely affected than previously thought. Through a review of the literature, the article outlines emotional and brain development in infant and early childhood. The authors draw connections between witnessing IPV and the effects of trauma on the development of the brain.
