Notes: | This article reports on the first national study in the United Kingdom (UK) of the needs of disabled women experiencing domestic violence, and of the services available to meet these needs. The researchers reveal that the disabled women interviewed reported distressing experiences of abuse, especially where the abuser was their carer. The article makes a number of recommendations for improving practice. |
