Notes:  This brief article examines two studies published in 2009 and 2010 which examine the relationship between intimate partner violence, reproductive control and reproductive factors. The authors examine the design, findings and conclusions. Based on the findings of both studies which reported a relationship between partner violence and male control of contraception, the authors discuss recommendations for health practitioners around screening and disclosures of violence, as well as contraception considerations.
