It gives an overview of different types of abuse, their recognition by the dental health professional and how to protect and assist these patients. It includes a table of an instrument for screening patients for domestic violence called RADAR, developed by the Massachusetts Medical Society. It looks at: routinely screening female patients; asking direct questions; documenting findings; assessing the patient’s safety; reviewing options and making referrals for the victim.
