Article describes the work of the Queensland Elder Abuse Prevention Unit, established in 1997 as a result of the 1994 ‘Report of the Project on Abuse of Older People’. Statistics gathered from calls to the EAPU Helpline since 1999 and analysed in the EAPU annual report of 2003 are discussed. Information is given about the Multidisciplinary Peer Support Network which was formed to give support to isolated workers dealing with elder abuse in rural and remote Queensland. Contact details for the EAPU and details of its agenda for 2004 are included.
