Notes: | Provides a review of literature and research into community-based violence prevention and identifies some key gaps in the existing knowledge base, before drawing upon the findings of two demonstration projects, conducted by the US Institute for Community Peace, to support the development of a model for explaining the changes occurring in communities as they build their capacity to prevent violence. An important theme that emerged from the project was that community violence prevention cannot be seen in isolation from violence in the home. |
