Notes:	This US research highlights the need for routine screening for domestic violence in military health care facilities. Investigates the resistance caused by staff barriers, especially in prenatal care. The study looked at 2 hospitals – one small and one large. The small hospital saw about 250 patients a month and had 18 staff while the large hospital was seeing around 1000 patients a month and had 60 staff. The study also included 74 other health care providers. The authors found that 70% of the health care providers were screening all patients and that perceived barriers included lack of time and education as well as a lack of clinical protocol. The authors recommended that health care providers receive universal training addressing perceived barriers and how to overcome them; key specifics on partner violence identification; and universal screening techniques emphasising written documentation of victims’ responses, with universal forms to be approved by military’s form’s flow procedures.
