Notes:	This article summarises findings from a new study on violence against women in Australia and its links with mental illness and suicide. The study found that 27 % of women surveyed had experienced at least one form of gender-based violence. The full findings have been published as 'Lifetime Prevalence of Gender-Based Violence in Women and the Relationship With Mental Disorders and Psychosocial Function', in the Journal of the American Medical Association, 2011.
