Notes: | Outlines the methodology and results of a qualitative study aimed at examining the management approaches taken by general practitioners in relation to victims of intimate partner abuse and their children. The manner in which practitioners deal with abusive partners and their practices of disclosure, counselling and referral are also considered. Findings suggest a need for better training in family violence issues for general practitioners and the development of good practice guidelines for health professionals. |
