Notes: | This discussion paper examines the national and international literature on filicide. Data is obtained from the Australian Institute of Criminology's (AIC) National Homicide Monitoring Program (NHMP) of an 11 year period from 1997-2008. A total of 15 filicide cases are examined both of fathers who kill their children and mothers who kill their children. There is also discussion on current risk assessment frameworks, such as the Victorian Family Violence Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework. |
