Notes: | This study compares the mental health of women who reported domestic violence and those who reported no domestic abuse in their lifetime. Women between the ages 16 and 74 years (n = 358), who attended the emergency department of major public hospital in Australia, were the basis of this study. The objective was to investigate the links between domestic violence and mental illness. The results of the study showed that women who had experienced domestic violence had experienced more ill-effects to their mental health than women who had never experienced violence. |
