Notes:  Presented in interview form, article gives a profile of the Immigrant Women’s Support Service (IWSS) history, philosophy, and services provided to women from non-English-speaking backgrounds in Queensland. Discusses the importance of having a separate service for women from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and the issues specific to CALD women who have experienced sexual assault. Concludes with a list of lessons learned by IWSS that includes the need to educate men as well as women, the need for consistent and appropriate professional interpreters and the need for adequate resourcing to meet the needs of a culturally diverse society.
