Notes:  This article presents the findings of US research which sought to investigate the impact of a chart prompt on patient records cuing physicians to inquire about intimate partner violence during a complete history and physical examination. The researchers found that placing a prompt on a medical chart results in dramatic increases in documented screening rates.
