Notes:	Article summarises a literature review done in association with an exploratory qualitative study carried out in New Zealand, that looks at children’s and mothers’ views of domestic violence interventions. Discusses the evolution of the view in the literature of children’s involvement in domestic violence situations from failing to acknowledge their experiences to documenting their participation as both witness and victim of abuse. Considers a number of qualitative studies that investigate the child’s perspective in the situation and the way in which they deal with the violence on a daily basis. Suggests that recent changes in policy, which highlight the importance of child-centred interventions, will not only help today’s victims but could halt the cycle of violence in the future.
