Notes: | Examined the educational impact of placing leaflets and other resources on intimate partner violence in medical settings on awareness of community resources and the beneficial effect of this material. This US study was carried out in the waiting room of a hospital emergency department where pamphlets and information was displayed. 122 Participants were asked 10 questions on whether they noticed, read or retained information from the material. Just over half of these noticed the material of whom 40% retained information that they contained. Concluded that provision of resources was not sufficient means to address partner violence in a medical setting but is only one of the means that may be used in addition to routine inquiry by practitioners. |
