Notes:  Outlines the methodology and findings of a US study aimed at ascertaining the significance of adolescent sibling violence as a predictor for subsequent college dating violence. An overview of research into sibling and dating violence is provided. The results suggest the strongest predictors of sibling violence are parent-to-child violence and age difference between siblings, and that perpetrator sibling violence is associated with later dating violence. A link between father-to-child violence and father-to-mother violence and dating violence was also identified. The limitations of the study and implications for future research and intervention are also considered.
