Title: Legal needs of people with a disability. Legal Australia-Wide Survey: Updating Justice
Authors: Anonymous
Keywords: Disability;Legal issues
Population: People with disability
Year: 2012
Publisher: Law and Justice Foundation of NSW
Notes:  This briefing note is based on the report, Legal Australia-wide survey: legal need in Australia:, by Christine Coumarelos et al. The aim of that survey, which involved over 20,000 telephone interviews with households across Australia, was to document the prevalence of legal problems in Australia, their nature, strategies used in responding to them, the advice received for legal problems and their ultimate outcome.

This paper considers the legal needs of those living with a disability in Australia and concludes that this disadvantaged group had high prevalence of legal problems in respect of all 12 legal problem designations measured: accidents, consumer, credit/debt, crime, employment, family, government, health, housing, money, personal injury and rights.
