Highlights the tendency for domestic violence to be viewed as a problem primarily affecting women from lower socio-economic backgrounds and the difficulties associated with obtaining information about victims who do not utilise welfare services. Some of the unique issues faced by women from higher socio-economic groups are identified and the purpose of an information sheet developed by the Women’s Information Referral Exchange specifically directed at higher-income families and their experiences of separation and/or domestic abuse is outlined.
