Notes:  This brief article takes a look at the progress made since the February 2011 announcement of the Australian government's National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children:and finds the situation disappointing as far as the government's lack of engagement with the sector and level of communication on the progress of the plan.

The authors underline the complexity of the issue of violence against women and emphasise the considerable amount of time, effort and especially funding required to eradicate this problem.
