Notes:  Outlines the methodology and results of a UK study that compared the childhood and adulthood characteristics of males who murdered their intimate female partners with males who murdered other non-intimate men. The relative ‘conventionality’ of each of these groups is then examined An overview of research into lethal and non-lethal intimate partner violence is provided and some of the key findings emerging from the study, such as the tendency for men who kill intimate partners to have a history of violence against women, are highlighted.
