Notes:	Research has found that few services, either in Australia or overseas, routinely provide for the needs of clients with a mental illness in their role as parents, and that there is a lack of information and resources about mental illness to guide generalist support services in such work. In this article, the authors report on an innovative project in Victoria which provides an integrated way of working to assist mothers who have a mental illness and their children. Highlights the increasing awareness of the extent to which women with serious mental illness have been victims of trauma, including domestic and family violence.
