| Notes: | This article reports on 2 US studies which investigated college students’ perceptions of causes of violence in heterosexual dating relationships. Study 1 looked at 107 participants’ written causal explanations for dating violence. Study 2 examined 70 students’ ratings of cause in 15 scenarios. Participants recognised power as an important cause, which suggests feminist structural frameworks may lead to more effective prevention education. |
