Notes:  Overview:This US research team investigated the relationship between perinatal status and help seeking of abused women using a retrospective study of 964 women from a county in southwest Michigan who had been the victims of intimate partner violence in 2000.

From the results obtained they concluded that abused women are more likely to become pregnant and that perinatal status does influence how women seek help from emergency departments and from the police.
