Notes:  Presents the rate of violence against dating partners by male and female students at 31 universities in 16 different countries (including Australia – Adelaide), outlining assault and injury rates for each student group. Attempts to identify key patterns and trends emerging from the data collected. An overview of research into the incidence and prevalence of dating violence in the United States is provided and some of the limitations of the study are highlighted. Although a range of cultural factors were identified as significant, the findings support previous studies that have indicated assaults against partners in dating or marital relationships are the most common form of violent crime regardless of social context.
