Notes:  Overview:This article discusses prevention of adolescent violence in the home (including violence by adolescents against their parents, carers, siblings, other family members and pets). It contends that a coordinated community response to adolescent violence in the home is a key strategy for preventing family violence. It discusses responses adopted in North America, including the ‘Step Up’ program in which police and courts have partnered together with community-based organisations to successfully deliver a coordinated response to adolescent violence. The author argues that this approach should be incorporated into Victoria’s integrated family violence service system.
