Notes: | The Family Violence Counselling and Support Service (FVCSS), Tasmania, reflects on its experiences of proactive follow up with victims of domestic and family violence, following referrals by another agency such as the police. Proactive follow up aims to establish rapport between the service and the victim; provide information regarding services available; increase the possibility of further engagement; and explain and provide information about Tasmania’s Safe at Home integrated service system. The article outlines advantages of ‘cold calling’, as well as managing any risks. |
