| Notes: | The 1999 week of community action against family violence in Victoria focused upon providing information to family members and friends of women who are experiencing violence in the home. Research has shown that such women are most likely to turn to families and friends for assistance. In this article the author shares her experience of helping a woman who was living with a violent husband. She reflects upon how that involvement also impacted upon her own life and sense of self. |
