This one page article is the author’s response to the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship’s (DIAC) comment on the author’s original article which identified issues with how DIAC responds to the special protection needs of women seeking asylum from gender-based persecution. The authors respond to DIAC’s methodological criticisms and reassert that the issues identified in their original research have yet to be adequately addressed.
