Notes:  Outlines the methodology and results of a Queensland study aimed at assessing the extent to which exposure to violence in men’s family of origin increases the likelihood of aggression and negative communication in later dating relationships. The article draws upon social learning models to explain the apparent link between family of origin and adult relationship aggression and compares the findings of the study with previous research in the field, before exploring some of the other potential sources of couple aggression, such as violence in past relationships.
