Notes:  This Canadian study examined violence associated with pregnancy in newly arrived migrant women. Of the 774 pregnant women who participated in the study, 59 (7.6%) women reported violence associated with the pregnancy. The study concludes that clinicians need to ask recent migrant women (including asylum seekers and refugees) about violence in pregnancy and appropriately assess, treat and refer them.
