Report on data collected during October 2003 by the Queensland Centre for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence from over 23 services across Queensland. Data gathered on a total of 1,576 new client matters were classified according to the primary service provided to new clients, the nature of the client’s situation that led to contact with the service, and reporting violence to the police. Purpose of data collection is to help evaluate the impact of changes to the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 1989 implemented in March 2003.
