Notes: | Describes the disadvantaged position endured by people holding a Temporary Protection Visa (TPV). People on a TPV are not eligible to access several services such as settlement assistance, the Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS) and the welfare system. In addition, they might have been confined in an immigration detention centre. As a result, their possibilities to find a job, education and housing are particularly limited. Furthermore, the TPV expires after 30 months and a reapplication process is required. |
